What’s going on with the El Camino Trees and Caltrans?

Come to the El Camino Real Task Force Study Session

Lane Room, Burlingame Main Library, 480 Primrose Road

For over a century, Burlingame residents and visitors to our City have enjoyed the historic grove of trees along El Camino Real. As the trees have aged, concerns have been raised about their impact on the safety and condition of the roadway, sidewalks, and storm drains.

In June, 2016, the City Council created an “El Camino Real Task Force” and appointed six residents to work with a representative from Caltrans and City staff to identify the issues and develop criteria for potential solutions. The initial area being studied is between Sanchez Avenue and Palm Drive.

The Task Force will be presenting its recommendations to the City Council on February 26. Residents are invited to participate and share their suggestions.
