After decades of conflict with Caltrans regarding plans to widen and remove trees on El Camino Real, there is a major project being proposed on which you can provide input. The goal of this project is to both improve the roadway and sidewalks for safety, while maintaining the character of the narrow, tree-lined segment of El Camino Real through Burlingame.
Though significant funding is earmarked for this project, it does not include the funding to underground the utility wires that now blemish the westside–that which will essentially limit the tree height and tree density if allowed to remain in the future. Please take the time to listen to this virtual presentation, and to participate by giving feedback that will help determine options for this major infrastructure project along our iconic highway. The scoping period runs 45 days long, from May 26th to July 6th 2020. https://ecrscoping.com
